I set this up so that I can ramble on about my lead (and plastic) mountain, my endless gaming, miniature, and terrain projects, and other

insights into various games.

You'll find lots of 'pretty pictures', various modeling techniques, and hopefully some inspiration for your own lead pile. You're bound to

find something amongst my games and photos that interests you.

Sit back, open a cold one, and enjoy.

Thunder Boats!, the Game. High-speed Hydroplane racing

We played a recent game of Thunder Boats! rules using my newly painted and numbered Hydroplanes.  Both Hotwheels and Matchbox produce suitable hydroplane racers, but I prefer the new ones from Hotwheels. The board is a 5'x8' blue sheet with 4" hexes drawn across it. A circular course is set up and it's off to the races.

The back row shows three of the styles (L-R, Hotwheels Power Speedboat, Hotwheels Hydroplane, Matchbox Hydroplanes, and another Hotwheels Hydroplane.)  I did some custom paint jobs, such as the zebra stripes, but there are plenty of different paint jobs available, you just have to look for them.  I bought many of them for $1, and some I found for much less at the flea market and thrift stores.

The water tails are simply made from foam core board.

I thought I took pictures of the actual game, but I'll have to find them now as they seem to be mis-filed.
